[Nongsuchuksan Shinmun = Reporter Park Yu-shin] The production and supply plans for government-supplied winter seeds, which have been established separately by the National Seed Center and the Korea Agricultural Technology Promotion Agency, will be integrated and operated as a single system. Previously, the National Seed Center supplied major crops such as rice, soybeans, barley, and wheat in large quantities, while the Agricultural Technology Promotion Agency supplied a variety of varieties in small quantities, including new varieties developed by the Rural Development Administration and fodder crops. However, because the agencies provided plans separately, it was difficult to grasp the total production and supply volume of government-supplied seeds at a glance, so they have decided to integrate the operations starting this year. In this regard, according to the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, the government-supplied winter seeds for next year consist of five items: hulless barley, rice barley, malting barley, wheat, and fodder crops.
