[Korea Agricultural News Reporter Yoo Seung-hyun] On a sunny autumn day, the usually quiet fields within the Civilian Control Zone (CCZ) were bustling with life for the first time in a while, filled with the laughter of people enjoying rice harvesting and various hands-on activities. Children cut rice with sickles they were holding for the first time, while farmers and urban farmers shared the joy of the harvest. It was a gathering to harvest together the rice planted with the hope for peace and unification between the North and South. On the 3rd, the Gangwon Provincial Federation of the Korean Peasants League (KPF) and the Cheorwon County Farmers' Association held the "2026 Cheorwon County Unification Rice Harvest" at the "Peace Rice Paddy" within the CCZ in Cheorwon County, Gangwon Province. The event began with an opening ceremony and included unification rice harvesting, straw rope making, writing wishes on wish papers, and a mid-day snack gathering.
