[Nongsuchuksan News = Reporter Shim Mi-jin] The winners of the 35th Daesan Rural Awards have been announced. The Daesan Rural Foundation (Chairman Kim Ki-young) announced on the 1st that it had selected the following recipients for the 35th Daesan Rural Awards: Mr. Hwang Chi-ik (63, Representative of Jirisan Perilla Farmer) in the Agricultural Management category; Mr. Lee Geun-yi (59, Representative of Ubo Farm Co., Ltd.) in the Rural Development category; and Mr. Park Geon-hee (48, Director of Pyeongchang County Health and Medical Center) in the Rural Contribution category. Mr. Hwang Chi-ik, the winner in the Agricultural Management category, was recognized for his contributions in rebuilding the domestic organic perilla production base by establishing a system to stably purchase, process, and sell produce from 16 organic perilla farms nationwide while cultivating organic perilla and shiso.
