[Nongsuchuksan News = Reporter Shim Mi-jin] The Rural Development Administration (RDA, Administrator Lee Seung-don) has begun field application of a storage technology capable of maintaining the marketability of the outer leaves while storing spring cabbage for an extended period. This initiative aims to increase the potential for shipment to general wholesale markets, in addition to utilizing the stored cabbage for kimchi processing. On the 15th, the RDA held a "Field Briefing on Spring Cabbage CA+ Sterilization Complex Storage Technology" at the Agricultural Products Distribution Center (APC) in Boeun, North Chungcheong Province. The briefing was attended by representatives from the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (aT), kimchi processing companies, the distribution industry, and cabbage farmers. CA+ sterilization maintains the external quality of spring cabbage stored for a long time.
