Version History

What's shipped in Korea Ag Digest, release by release — from the first commit to today.

Current releasev2026.08.15View releases on GitHub
v2026.08.15LatestA clearer first visit, a premium workspace that explains itself in plain language, and follow buttons on the market page.

Getting oriented

  • A short introduction for new readers at the top of the digest, covering what Ag Digest is, which desks exist, and which are free to read. Regular readers see the feed exactly as before.
  • Plans now say who each desk is for — weather for growers and farm operators, coffee for green buyers and roasters, beer and spirits for brewers and distillers, market intelligence for analysts and trade teams.

Market

  • Follow buttons on global reference cards — Arabica, Robusta, maize, U.S. SRW wheat, Thai rice, world sugar and U.S. natural gas can each be saved to a watchlist in one click. Signed-out visitors are returned to the same view after signing in.

Premium workspace

  • Alerts read in plain language — each alert names the series it watches and the units it is measured in instead of an internal code, and a fired alert says what was observed and which threshold it crossed. An alert that can no longer be evaluated is marked instead of looking healthy.
  • Team-shared alert emails reach the whole team. Shared alerts were already visible to every member in the app, but the email digest only went to whoever created the rule.
  • Search and filter your watchlists by name, code or note in English and Korean, narrow to one item type, and read mixed lists at a glance with type chips.
  • Mute a saved watchlist item to keep it saved but out of your briefs, instead of removing it outright — and confirm before removing one.
  • Failed data exports can be retried instead of stopping at a dead end, exports that cannot run explain why before you request them, and each export's progress is easier to follow.
  • Saved scenarios show readable labels for every input instead of raw field names, and group by calculator so a coffee scenario is easy to pick out.
  • Save landed-cost calculations from the Coffee page, matching the brewer and spirits calculators.

Privacy

  • Analytics run only if you agree, refusing costs you nothing, and a footer control reopens the notice whenever you want to change your answer.

Fixes & polish

  • Fixed the subscription confirmation page, which could tell a subscriber their payment may not have gone through moments after it succeeded, and now points to the workspace they just unlocked rather than to billing settings.
  • Articles read newest-first across both columns. The feed previously filled one column before the other, so the ordering could look shuffled.
  • Clearer source credits on every article — publication names that appeared squashed and blurry are legible again, shown the same way everywhere, and long names are no longer cut off.
  • Korean readers no longer see stray English on article cards and translation badges.
  • The intelligence brief request form says what each step asks for before asking for contact details, and makes clear a phone number is never taken as permission to call.
  • Your Google profile photo now appears instead of a default avatar, and is saved for returning accounts that were missing it. An uploaded photo still takes priority.
  • Missing articles now return the correct not-found response for browsers and search engines.
Released August 15, 2026
v2026.07.25Weather intelligence, premium coffee & spirits tools, expanded trade data, and a public release-history page.

Weather intelligence

  • Live Korea weather section — daily observations, weather warnings (기상특보) with forecaster commentary, soil temperature and moisture, radar and satellite imagery, and a solar-term (절기) crop-risk explorer, from the Korea Meteorological Administration.
  • Honest context — daily observations show how today compares to the long-run average, shown as context rather than cause.

Premium workspace

  • Coffee tools — a brew-ratio/extraction calculator and a processing-methods reference.
  • Spirits tools — a grain-bill to new-make yield calculator and a maturation/cask-type reference.
  • Saved coffee watchlists, price alerts delivered as a daily email digest you can unsubscribe from in one tap, and a workspace data export for premium members.
  • Coffee news in context — see how coffee coverage lines up against benchmark price moves, shown as context, not cause.

Coffee & trade data

  • Daily ICO coffee price indicator — the ICO composite indicator with a full year of history on the coffee page.
  • On-demand article translation — request a full translation of any article with one tap.
  • Branded share images and short share links for every article.
  • US–Korea agricultural trade panel, from U.S. Census Bureau trade data.

Fixes & polish

  • Release history page — a new page, linked from the site footer, lists what shipped in each Ag Digest release.
  • Fixed a broken Korea weather chart.
  • Market-data exports are now safer to open in spreadsheet apps.
  • Fixed duplicate Korean source bylines.
  • Clearer sign-in error messages.
Released July 25, 2026
v2026.07.18Coffee & beverage intelligence release.

Coffee Intelligence page

  • Harvest calendar — 15 origins with typical harvest, flowering, and export windows (reference-only, no prices).
  • Embedded Magazine module — inline coffee features on the News tab.
  • Daily exchange rates — USD/KRW, USD/BRL, and USD/IDR on the coffee cost tools, refreshed daily.
  • Cost calculator — green → CIF → Korean landed cost → roasted → cost-per-cup, bilingual, from your own inputs.

Spirits intelligence

  • Verified Korea producer registry — six primary-source-verified producers (Three Societies/Ki One, Kimchangsoo, Hwayo, HiteJinro, Lotte Chilsung, Kooksoondang).
Released July 18, 2026

  • English-native articles keep their original headline, summary, and link with attribution, and are never machine-translated.
  • Premium intelligence cards now link members to their live workspace tools, and are honest about what isn't built yet.
  • Five World Bank grain, sugar, and gas price series (maize, US SRW wheat, Thai rice, world sugar, US natural gas), 2016→present, that you can track and set alerts on.
Released July 16, 2026
v2026.07.16.6Coffee futures positioning and a natural gas reference join the public-domain data feeds.

Highlights

  • Coffee futures positioning (CFTC) — weekly non-commercial vs. commercial net positions and open interest, charted back to 2016, with a plain-language explainer (context, not a forecast).
  • Natural gas reference (daily) on the beverages page — five years of Henry Hub spot, framed as a global input reference, not a Korean city-gas tariff.
Released July 16, 2026
v2026.07.16.5Two public-domain market feeds join the data set: CFTC coffee positioning and EIA natural gas.

Highlights

  • CFTC Commitments of Traders for Coffee C — weekly open interest and commercial/non-commercial net positioning, 2016→present.

Released July 16, 2026
v2026.07.16.1Premium workspace and a login fix.

Premium workspace

  • New account workspace area (EN/KO): watchlists with live market data and freshness/status, saved scenarios (wired into the brewer and spirits calculators), threshold price alerts with a daily check, plan-gated CSV/JSON exports, and pro-tier team management with roles.
  • Honest plan states throughout — login-required → plan upsell → real UI; email alerts marked "coming soon," never a dead toggle.

Highlights

  • Ag Digest begins.

  • `v2025.12.30` through `v2026.01.27` and `v2026.07.09` through `v2026.07.12` are a backfilled reconstruction of this project's early history — no GitHub Release existed for that period. Dates are the day the grouped work shipped; groupings are by theme, not a literal change-by-change list.
  • `v2026.07.13` onward mirrors this repo's actual [GitHub Releases](https://github.com/shmaplex/korea-agdigest/releases).
  • There is a ~5.5 month gap between `v2026.01.27` and `v2026.07.09` — the project was dormant over that period.
Released December 30, 2025

Entries before v2026.07.13 are a reconstruction of this project's git history; entries from v2026.07.13 onward mirror this repo's GitHub Releases.
