The Rural Development Administration (RDA, Administrator Lee Seung-don) held the awards ceremony for the ‘2026 Best Quality Korean Pear Evaluation,’ co-organized with the Korean Pear Research Society, at the Pear Research Center of the National Institute of Horticultural and Special Crops Science on October 29. This evaluation was organized to promote the excellence of domestically bred pear varieties and to identify farms that produce high-quality pears. Judging was conducted on 24 entries of 10 varieties, including ‘Wonhwang,’ ‘Hwanggeum,’ and ‘Manpung,’ submitted from eight major pear-producing regions nationwide.
